Mission Report: Disturbance in Space

 October 15th, 

58th Imperial Cycle.

CASC has received messages from former Sector 13. At precisely 13:00 on the first day of the fourth month, the Sector delivered its last message before it was wiped out, as attached below. Previously thought to be a regular solar eclipse, after the squadrons sent back reports, it was realized that the scope of events was far beyond what was imagined. The few dust particles and debris floating in the now-empty area is the only sign of civilization having existed in the area previously.


Agent Rhodes stated “All the planets, spaceships and satellites I saw in my last visit.. All gone. None of the scientists under my command had detected such an event ever before. A freak accident, according to them.”


CASC ministers have been discussing the possibility of such an event occurring in the near future, in a different Sector. The Empire has had huge hits to its economy, and trade routes with the disappearance of former Sector 13. Worries have risen about the total decay of the Empire’s glory if another such “Void” reappears.


“Protocols will be decided upon and strictly reinforced.” States Captain Greg. “The best we can do is hope and pray.”

 The first time Liora heard the ticking, she thought it was a neighbor’s wall clock. It was faint: slow, rhythmic, almost soothing, until she realized it was coming from inside her bedroom closet. “What’s the point in studying so much if it’s impossible?” I whispered under my breath, and snapped the book shut. I placed it at the top of the pile of books and got ready to leave. Usually, I would sit with my book until the last second before the library closed, and then leave. But, the book I was reading today was particularly frustrating.
