Mission Report: Disturbance in Space

October 15th,  58th Imperial Cycle. CASC has received messages from former Sector 13. At precisely 13:00 on the first day of the fourth month, the Sector delivered its last message before it was wiped out, as attached below. Previously thought to be a regular solar eclipse, after the squadrons sent back reports, it was realized that the scope of events was far beyond what was imagined. The few dust particles and debris floating in the now-empty area is the only sign of civilization having existed in the area previously. Agent Rhodes stated “All the planets, spaceships and satellites I saw in my last visit.. All gone. None of the scientists under my command had detected such an event ever before. A freak accident, according to them.” CASC ministers have been discussing the possibility of such an event occurring in the near future, in a different Sector. The Empire has had huge hits to its economy, and trade routes with the disappearance of former Sector 13. Worries have risen...

Mission to Mars

The loud chattering of the crowd and the faint whirring of the engines only served to increase my nerves. My hands shook ever so slightly in fear as I clutched the safety belt on my seat on the Atlantis, a prestige available to only a hundred people. Our family’s luggage had long since been taken and packed away in some corner of the titanic spaceship. It had been a few hours since take-off, and I was still too scared to look out the window. “Man, you seem more nervous than me!” laughed the boy sitting next to me, tilting his head in amusement. I’m a fellow passenger on the Atlantis, but I think you already knew that.” I offered a small chuckle at his joke. The only reason he would be next to me is if he were a passenger, obviously. He could be a member of the ship’s crew, but he was too young. Plus, he didn’t have the uniform on, and wasn’t helping with the flight. Shaking his hand, I int...

Spirits and Such

The creaky stairs and suspiciously-stained walls did not inspire confidence in Beth as she carefully made her way up to the second floor of the building. Although the flyer her friend had handed to her had been colorful and bright, this place felt very.. drab and run-down. Beth glanced around quickly, making sure that nobody was around. She didn’t feel safe in this place, but this had to be done. Clutching the locket on her neck, she swiftly made her way over to the door with a sign proclaiming, ‘Spirits and Such’. From the multiple bullet holes littering the door, she didn’t have any trouble believing that there were indeed many ghosts in there, if not by their own volition. She had barely lifted her arm to knock on the door, but it swung open before her eyes. Lowering her raised fist, she slowly ventured inside the place, the door shutting itself behind her. It was a rather small room. There was no furniture, only a single desk and two chairs. However, several shelves cluttered...
